We have more than 15 years of experience in the world of student and research services, exchange programs of all kinds. From 2001, every year we have been organising free summer camp activities for 200 kids of the Community of la Piedra.
There we provide 3 weeks outdoor activities, sports, recreation, weekend excursion, shoes, a camp uniform and 2 meals a day, from Monday to Friday. At the end of the program activities we donate school supplies, school uniforms, school shoes, certificates and medals to all participants.
Volunteers currently need 3 weeks for the Summer Camp. It was developed for children aged 5 to 13, who are desperately in need of academic help, with many being one or more grade levels behind in school. Volunteers work side by side with Dominican staff in a group effort that crosses language and cultural barriers to promote the exchange of ideas, strategies and methods in teaching and activities.
Help us keep our children on the path to a brighter future as you teach them English basics – and perhaps inspire them to keep learning. Volunteer as a Summer Camp Counselor at the Guanin Center in the Dominican Republic! Spend three or four weeks in the DR teaching sports, arts & crafts, writing, reading, and other activities. You will receive free Spanish classes, all Guanin adventure activities, cultural classes how to dance merengue, salsa and bachata, beach time and others activity. We invite you to be part of our SAS Summer Camp.
In your free time, you’ll enjoy the warmth of the Dominican people, who may share their passion for baseball, merengue and beach as well as the stunning beauty of this Caribbean jewel that few tourists see.
